How do I design a Stonebloc gravity retaining wall?

Envirocon has made it easy to design Stonebloc gravity walls with our new design manual. Included in the manual are generic designs covering most cases.

Download our design manual here.

The design manual contains detailed, code compliant, design methodology with generic wall designs and supporting parametres. This manual has also been converted into a series of design analysis sheets viewable and downloadable below.

Calculation Sheets:

How to Use the Sheets: To input the desired parameters for backfill, soil, and loads, locate the cells under the "enter value" cells that are highlighted in green. Similarly, enter the wall dimensions in the cells highlighted in green under the "enter value" cell. For the dimensions of Stonebloc blocks, please refer to the Stonebloc block catalogue. Typically, uniform walls have a thickness of 400mm, but if base blocks are used, they can extend up to 800mm and 1200mm thick. To determine which sheet to use, consult the design manual for generic wall profiles.

Uniform Wall Analysis Sheet:

This spreadsheet supports analysis for for a uniform wall thickness. Typically these walls are up to 1m high.

L Shape Wall Analysis Sheet:

This spreadsheet supports analysis for for an L shaped wall where the toe extends up to 1200mm and utilises the weight of the backfill. Typically these walls are up to 1.6m high.

L Shape Wall (1200 Base) Analysis Sheet:

This spreadsheet supports analysis for for an L shaped wall where the toe depth changes with each layer. Typically these walls are up to 2m high.
