Service Recognition Policy

This policy recognizes and rewards employees for their continued commitment and service to the company.

1-Year Service Reward

  • Employees who complete one year of continuous service will be eligible for one day of birthday paid leave.
  • This leave does not need to be taken on the employee’s actual birthday but must be taken within 12 months of earning it.
  • Employees must request birthday leave through the usual leave request process, ensuring operational requirements are met.
  • The leave applies to the next birthday after the anniversary date of commencement of employment.

Implementation Date:

  • This reward applies retrospectively to all eligible employees based on their service years.

5-Year Service Reward

  • Employees who complete five years of continuous service will be eligible for a one-off $1,000 travel allowance plus one additional day of birthday paid leave.
  • The birthday leave does not need to be taken on the employee’s actual birthday but must be used within 12 months of becoming eligible.
  • The travel allowance must be used within 12 months of becoming eligible.
  • Employees must submit a request through the usual process with sufficient notice, ensuring operational needs are met.

10-Year Service Reward

  • Employees who complete ten years of continuous service will be eligible for an additional one week of paid annual leave and a one-off $2,000 travel allowance.
  • The additional leave must be taken within 12 months of becoming eligible.
  • Employees must submit a leave request through the usual process with sufficient notice, ensuring operational needs are met.
  • The travel allowance must be used within 12 months of becoming eligible.

Implementation Date:

  • This reward applies retrospectively to all eligible employees based on their service years.

Transition Period

  • Employees who have already passed a service milestone at the time of this policy update will be eligible for the respective reward at their next milestone anniversary.
  • Employees currently in their service term will become eligible for the reward upon reaching their respective milestone.

Process for Applying

  • Birthday leave should be applied for through Smartly. Select 'Birthday Leave' as the leave type and include 'Birthday Leave' in the comments section.
  • Leave approvals are subject to operational requirements and manager discretion.
  • Leave or travel allowances not used within the eligible period (12 months) will be forfeited.
