Technical & Specifications Manager

The Engineering & Specifications Manager ensures Envirocon’s systems meet standards, supports product development, and drives technical innovation.

Key Result Areas

  • Engineering Design – Develop and deliver engineering solutions that meet customer and industry requirements.
  • Software Development & Enhancement – Maintain and improve Envirocalc to ensure compliance with current standards.
  • Technical Engagement & Specification – Promote Envirocon’s products by engaging with consultants and specifiers.
  • New Product Development & Compliance – Ensure new products meet NZ building codes and industry standards.
  • Technical Support & Collaboration – Provide engineering support and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Specific Responsibilities

Engineering Design

  • Utilize Envirocalc software to generate engineering designs that meet customer requirements and contribute to revenue growth.

  • Design cases received from the sales team using Envirocalc or manual calculations when necessary.

  • Provide preliminary design solutions to support the sales team in quoting new business opportunities.

Software Development & Enhancement

  • Maintain and develop Envirocalc to ensure it remains relevant to current standards and industry requirements.

  • Perform testing and validation of Envirocalc updates before release to ensure reliability and functionality.

  • Identify opportunities for additional design modules and collaborate with Arkturus to enhance Envirotrac’s functionality.

Technical Engagement & Specification

  • Work with consultants and specifiers to educate them about Envirocalc and secure the specification of Envirocon blocks at early project stages.

  • Conduct presentations and webinars for engineering audiences to promote and educate on Envirocon products and applications.

New Product Development & Compliance

  • Assess the engineering feasibility of new product concepts and provide technical guidance during the development phase.

  • Ensure all new products comply with NZ building codes and relevant industry standards.

Other Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to engineering professionals by addressing queries and offering troubleshooting assistance.

  • Undertake additional tasks as required to support the engineering, design, and product development functions.

  • Any other tasks required by management.

Working Relationships

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales and engineering, to align design outputs with business objectives.

  • Work with external partners, such as Arkturus, on module development and system enhancements.

  • Engage with consultants and specifiers to drive early adoption of Envirocon’s solutions.

Functional Relationships (internal)

  • Sales Team – Support quoting and design solutions.
  • Engineering Team – Align engineering outputs with business objectives.
  • Product Development Team – Collaborate on new product feasibility and compliance.
  • Senior Management – Ensure technical alignment with company strategy.

Reports to: Directors

Hours of Work: 35hrs, Monday to Thursday or as required.
